Size Matrix in Windward System Five

This Windward Webinar discussed the use of size matrix in Windward System Five. The size matrix, useful for items of different sizes, can be set up in two or three dimensions. This feature is especially useful for the selling and purchasing of items with variations such as color, size, or width.

  • Jennifer opened the webinar and introduced Annabel as the presenter (0:32-1:22).
  • Annabel discussed the size matrix in Windward System 5, explaining how it groups similar items in a two or three-dimensional matrix (1:29-2:12).
  • Annabel demonstrated how to activate the size matrix under the Setup Wizard (2:12-2:25).
  • She showed how to create a size matrix item by creating a new part or editing an existing part number. The 'create size matrix' button must be clicked (3:09-3:44).
  • She explained how to add dimensions to the matrix and how to create individual sizes or add all sizes (3:57-4:31).
  • Annabel demonstrated how to create a three-dimensional matrix by adding a third dimension/parameter (5:46-5:56).
  • She showcased a live demonstration of setting up a size matrix, purchasing an item through a purchase order, and selling an item (6:21-16:10).
  • Annabel mentioned that data loads for a size matrix can be done through professional services and that the size matrix is not limited to clothing but can be used for any parts with dimensions (18:06-18:44).
  • Jennifer announced an upcoming special webinar on July 19th on Windward's new e-commerce platform, WebCell, and another regular webinar on July 28th on recent system 5 enhancements (17:27-17:55).
  • Jennifer and Annabel answered questions and

1:04
Our webinar today is discussing the size matrix in Windward System 5, set up configuration and all that good stuff.
1:14
Our presenter today is Annabel and she's been a software specialist with Windward for over three years now.
1:22
So without further ado, let's get started.
1:26
Thanks, Jennifer. Hello, everyone.
1:29
As what Jennifer had said, I'll be today's presenter for the webinar about size matrix.
1:36
So what we'll be discussing today are the basic uses to set up in configuration of the size matrix and how to sell items of different sizes.
1:49
So let's start with size matrix.
1:53
So size matrix, it is a group of similar items that can be grouped together as a two or three dimensional matrix.
2:03
So two dimensional matrix, there are two parameters.
2:06
Well, three dimensional matrix or three parameters like x, y, and z.
2:12
So to start using the size matrix in system five, what we need to do is we will turn on the correct options under the Setup Wizard, Inventory Size Matrix.
2:25
So we can then see this screen right here.
2:29
So we can then click on the box, Use Size Clothing Matrix or the 3D matrix, which has like the three dimensions.
2:39
So, and you also have the option, there is a drop down on how to number the supplier part number of the matrix graded parts.
2:47
So you can use the created items part number.
2:51
There is also a supplier part number.
2:54
I will just show you later on on the live demonstration with the different options.
2:59
So we have max size x50, y50, and z50.
3:08
So creating a size matrix.
3:09
So how do we start?
3:11
So create a size matrix item.
3:13
First is we can either create a new part or you can edit an existing item or existing part number.
3:21
So once the part has been created or you wanted to edit an existing part, you just need to show, or you just need to click on the size matrix option from the left panel or at the top.
3:35
When you click on size matrix, you can see a button, create size matrix.
3:40
So you just need to click on the create size matrix.
3:44
So once you click on that, This will bring you the layout of the matrix.
3:48
So for the example given, we will have the size information in the left-hand panel and then the color information across the top.
3:57
So this is an example of a two-dimensional matrix, which it has two parameters, which are one is the size, the other is the color.
4:07
So for example, like clothes, like t-shirts, So we have different sizes and different colors.
4:16
So once the dimensions of your matrix has been set, we either choose to create individual sizes highlighted in the grid or choose to add all sizes by choosing the drop down box by the new button.
4:31
So let's say for example, you have already added all the sizes and the colors and by the way, you can add up to eight characters on here from the left and the top as well as right here.
4:44
So it's the eight characters.
4:45
So once you're done entering all of the dimensions, you can either highlight, let's say for example, this size small blue.
4:56
So you wanted, you just need to highlight, click on the dropdown arrow next to new and click on add size.
5:02
But let's say for example, you wanted to add everything.
5:06
Once you have entered all the dimensions, So you just need to click on the drop-down arrow next to New and then select Add All Sizes.
5:15
So once the parts have been created, they will show up in the matrix as the one below.
5:20
So it will show like this.
5:22
So for this example, the part number on this is t-shirt.
5:29
So for the numbering, it has in here the part number dash, the top panel, which is the color.
5:37
So blue dash S, which is also the size.
5:42
So as you can see, it's yellow.
5:44
So that means that it was created.
5:46
And for a three dimensional matrix, you just need to add size three right here on the left panel.
5:56
So once you have added another dimension or another parameter right here, it'll be considered a 3D or like three dimensional.
6:05
So example is, let's say, if not for clothes, let's say shoes.
6:09
So we have color at the top, and then sizes on the left panel.
6:14
The size 3 could be the width of the shoes.
6:17
So let's proceed with the live demonstration.
6:21
So first is we go to the Setup Tools, Setup Wizard, and then Inventory.
6:30
And then we go to Size Matrix.
6:33
So from here, we can check, I already checked the two options, use size, clothing matrix, use 3D matrix.
6:41
And from here, as what I've said earlier, there is like a dropdown wherein you can select the, you can select how to number the supplier part number.
6:53
It's either you can use the created items part number, for example, this is one of my example, the t-shirt dash s dash or a dash blue dash s something like that use the main item supplier part number so you can use the the main item not the not the created part or the use the main item supplier part number plus the size information okay so once it has been set right here once it is has been enabled So you can then proceed with creating the two-dimensional or three-dimensional size matrix.
7:32
You can either create a new part or edit an existing part.
7:36
If you will create a new one, so let's say it's a t-shirt, again, for men.
7:44
So we'll create.
7:50
And OK, so just a normal, let's see, t-shirt supplier.
8:04
And next, let's see, 10, okay.
8:10
All right, so once you're done creating the new part, we will then click on the size matrix on the left side, and then you can see right here, create size matrix button.
8:18
So you just need to click on this.
8:20
And as you can see, it created this.
8:23
We have the left-hand panel, we have the top, and we also have the size three right here.
8:28
So like, let's see, this one, sizes, You have you can actually is what I've said earlier can type up to eight characters.
8:36
So we have medium Large if you wanted to have it this way or just X large and then from here The top panel, let's say for example color so you have black Blue green Red, white, okay, all right.
9:11
So once you're done entering all the dimensions, as what I've said earlier, you can either select the one that you wanted to create and then click on new and then add size.
9:22
Or if you wanted all the sizes to be created, you just need to select, click on the arrow next to new and select add all sizes.
9:33
So as you can see right here, update the following fields for all size matrix.
9:37
So when you create a size matrix, there were fields that will inherit the created item as well inherit the domain items, description, supplier, and cost if you click on that.
9:54
So it will inherit everything because the current part that we have, it is like, because this is a newly created item, there's no quantity.
10:02
So this one right here, quantity, is zero, item number, so as you can see, we have in there t-shirt, this is the part number, t-shirt dash black dash small, t-shirt is the description and the prices, so let's say the list price, so you can see right here.
10:21
And if you wanted to edit the specific, like let's say the cost of one part, like let's say a black, a small black is actually like eight, you can change it from here as well.
10:34
You can also set the highs and lows of each of the created matrix size.
10:45
Once you're done with this one, for example, you have a part or you have an item that has three dimensions.
10:53
It's just not two.
10:55
You can actually add this one right here.
10:58
Let's say we have just added a test.
11:00
So it will then be added right here.
11:04
So once you added the size three, it will show right here.
11:11
And right now we need to, once you are done, like let's say test, click on add all sizes.
11:19
So we take a look at the numbering, when you go to the item number, it will show in there, t-shirt dash black dash small dash test.
11:29
So that would be the part number dash because the setting they have set with numbering or with numbering the part number is by default, which is the part number dash, the top panel, and then the left panel, and then the size three.
11:51
So once you're done creating this, The next step is to purchase the item through a purchase order.
12:02
So I'll just show you guys the purchasing part and then afterward the selling part.
12:07
So let's click on OK.
12:10
And we go to the purchases and new purchase order and then the supplier.
12:22
and type in the item is let me see let me just add it from here okay all right so when you add the item as you can see you can't click on order you can type in any quantity from here because for you to add a quantity you actually need to on the matrix from here you can set the the like let's see set ordered so like the the quantity so like let's say five like ten so this is where you will set the the quantities or like if you wanted to change the cost you could also change the cost from this side.
13:23
Okay, let's just not order everything.
13:27
So if you will order, the ones that will be added to the P are the ones in yellow.
13:34
So you also have the option to like change the cost because right now, as you can see, the ones are yellow, the ones that we changed, the ordered quantity.
13:43
So once we click on items, it will then be showing in here.
13:48
So we'll show right here all the variations that we have and then if you change the cost it will also it will also change the cost right here and then it will send and then receive.
14:12
So if we go to the item inventory we'll just go from here, View, Edit, Inventories.
14:28
If we go to the size matrix, it will then show that if we go to the size matrix right here, it will then show the quantities, the ones that we have ordered.
14:45
So the main one doesn't have anything, but it's just the size matrix or the matrix has the quantity and all the part numbers.
14:54
So when you sell as well, so say we create a new sale that just do it through cash.
15:06
So if you don't know the part number, maybe you just wanted to find the part, what you can actually do is you go add item and you can either click on matrix, like let's say for here you could type in t-shirt, there are two t-shirts.
15:24
this one is the female side this one is the one that they have created and as you can see these are like you can see the current quantities of the different variations that we have so like let's say for example you wanted to add the you wanted to add a small one you click on ok then it will add all the five and And then sender, and also when you create a sale, let's say for example we added that one or we create a new one, we could also see the parts.
16:10
You can find the parts.
16:17
You see t-shirts, so we click on t-shirts.
16:21
So we'll show all of the variations right here.
16:24
And you also have the option to, So that you can see the the color and the size if you want you can customize the the part fine By clicking on customize and then adding this is a size one in size two You can also add size three and then just change the name So I actually added size one and size two and I changed it to color and then size So alright, so I think that should be it for my uh for my um for today's topic for today's webinar so and yep so uh do you have any questions i see there were hands raised all right thanks anabel um while we're waiting for questions to come in i wanted to let you guys know of a special webinar we're doing on tuesday july 19th we're going to be going over our web sell e-commerce offerings with mike rosa from web cell.

18:18
You could contact your account manager for a code or go to our website.
18:28
which is winwordsoftware.com slash professional services.
18:35
And also the size matrix, this is only not for clothing because of the different features, the options.
18:44
You can also use this for other parts with dimensions as well, like bolts or any other parts that you wanted to use it.
18:58
All right, well, I don't see any questions coming in.
19:01
So if you have anything you think of after, make sure you send us an email or give us a call so we can help answer anything that you have.
