And today's presentation, we're going to be discussing jobs and projects which will be which is basically a great topic. And our speaker for today is Abby.
1:20
Abby is one of our 10 years software specialists with Woodward.
1:24
And she's been with the company for almost four years now. So let's get started. Take it away, Abby.
1:32
Thank you, ivory. Hi, everybody. Good afternoon. Our, today's webinar is about jobs and projects.
1:38
And things to be discussed, are jobs and projects costing, how to run reports and jobs and projects, and track the income expense for the job?
1:55
So jobs are projects The Jobs and Projects, Modular System five is a basic one and has the ability to assign a job number, two deals, invoices, and ledger entries, and then report on the profitability of specify specific jobs. So this module can be used if you want.
2:19
To consolidate invoices and so forth for a particular job, like a construction firm who is purchasing several times for a particular development that we're working on.
2:30
And the Use Job Costing option must be enabled in a set of tools, Setup, Wizard, Special Modules, Job Costing, in order for the Jobs and Projects menu to appear on the Navigator menu.
2:46
All right, And.
2:59
Use the Income and Expense report, as a tool to examine the profit at sign at the invoices, feels, and journal.
3:09
All right, now, I'm gonna pull up my channel here for our demonstration, so first of all, we need to set up jobs and projects, because it's not turned on by default from your Navigator menu.
3:28
Just go to setup tools, setup resorted to.
3:38
And then, that's under, Special modules, job costing, and select our check, his job costing and post-college our coastlines on an invoice, so close the window to save it.
4:00
All right, now we have the jobs and projects sitting on our navigator menu.
4:06
Now, let's say we're gonna be dealing with a construction company like this Smith construction, for example, so the SMIC Construction.
4:28
Avi I think we lost you there Mall just putting up all of the shopping as to provide an underlying pipe seltzer water in the search in all the cases So for.
4:43
Then select to customers or customers in Smith, construction.
4:53
OK, so after we select the customer, we you were redirected.
5:09
Window where we, on the job information where we put other, or provide other information?
5:18
No other job number field, you can just put any thing you want.
5:23
So, again, how, like A letter like ABC or Justs numbers.
5:33
So, I'm just gonna leave that as job number four.
5:36
And you can also have here, the description, the date range. So, let's say this model.
5:41
This is until.
5:45
Ah, let's say.
5:51
All right. Save it.
5:56
So, now, we're going to attach the invoice to that particular job number.
6:03
That's job number four.
6:05
And, I already have created one, but, whenever you create new sale, are you invoice?
6:13
You have here now the option to attach, or to put the job number here, directly purchased.
6:22
Select that fine job.
6:25
For me, to, like, just, you can just hit Reset to select that shelf number, or you can just search for that particular job through any of this fields, your number, or unique number, a voice number.
6:49
Yeah?
6:52
So, Alright, let me just pull up.
7:12
All right, Now, we have here. So, this, this is gonna be a 10 hour labor.
7:20
And I'll show in case you attach the correct job number can tell.
7:28
Or you can just select this button, attach, or edit job for you to change it.
7:33
So, or if you haven't, if you did not?
7:38
Aye.
7:45
It jobs yet to get just, so, attach it through that button.
7:53
So, on the left left-hand corner, it shows the Child number.
8:02
So, let's see, let's edit the job.
8:08
Edit the job.
8:11
Let's see, let's kinda show it.
8:13
So, under Invoices, we have completed work orders and estimates.
8:18
So, it's just gonna display the transactions.
8:22
So, let's say that the job is completed.
8:28
So, just Convert it to.
8:39
From a work order, too, and accounts receivable invoice.
9:11
All right, and now let's take a look at Me income expense report, for that particular job.
9:24
So, that is job number four.
9:32
Oh, hip yet.
9:34
So, the these, these accounts here, the like posing Carol, the balance sheet side or the ... side. So, that's, again, that doesn't, that doesn't affect the profitability.
9:49
Here's the income generated from or pipes and this is the cup.
10:00
Judicial labor.
10:02
And we help each other.
10:06
$50.
10:07
So we have here the costs, and we have here, did that, profit.
10:13
So this is just a chunk costing with one stage, like attach with one invoice.
10:20
So if you're going to turn on job costing and attach one invoice, do its job, well, can just go into the invoice itself and look at the profitability, like this.
10:43
So there's no true benefit to be able to run this report if you're just, um, attaching already invoice to a job.
10:54
So, here, I can just double click that, can just double click that Total Account, or Total Column there, and you'll be able to see your profit there.
11:13
So, What if Michelle is, Let's say, that the ground is just felt like there's no foundation, so, it won't pull the pipe.
11:24
So, I actually have to subcontract a clock bricklaying company to come out at least, Right.
11:30
So, I can have foundation and I have to have to bring a subcontractor in to be able to let me complete my job.
11:39
So that becomes the costs of this job.
11:43
Right. Now, I subcontracted, this conflict company, and they're going to bill me.
11:51
And that bill needs to be brought in this part of the whole cost of this job. So, let's, let's just create a bill first.
12:03
For the concrete.
12:14
K dash?
12:18
It's?
12:28
Mmm hmm.
12:32
I want this description to be sub come, crop, subcontract labor.
12:54
So, that's one thousand dollars.
12:59
I'm going to GST.
13:04
And here, I have the option to attach Bill to Job, or attach line to jobs.
13:10
So I'm gonna choose attach the build, or attach bill to job.
13:17
That is four.
13:21
So it's now showing up here, the child number.
13:24
So let's now save it.
13:32
Let's go back to the income expense reports.
13:52
So here it shows or that cause or additional causes be reflected here.
14:02
That is for the client the conduit company.
14:08
So one is profit 2550.
14:15
And so this one here.
14:19
Ah, we have looked at the.
14:26
how we shape the invoice and how we shape the bill.
14:34
So what it does?
14:39
Our first show us how it cost me to let the technician layed type.
14:50
So that's really just right.
14:52
So I've got any two, create a journal entry for the salary of that technician.
15:00
So let's just create eight.
15:06
Simple. There is an old girl entry. Like, there's still a Texas, or no, CPP.
15:12
So that would be shown entries.
15:18
Man, you're in all, during all.
15:31
Yeah.
15:32
Hmm.
15:37
Just here.
15:56
Yeah.
15:59
So whatever takes place in regards to what, what happens to the overall shopping mall that's being put up. And that we are responsible for is going to need to be entered in the system.
16:12
This, this 10 hour labor really needs to be attached to that particular job.
16:19
So, we need this drill entry, and would be?
16:34
Just use this one.
16:45
So, that should be.
16:49
Let's see.
16:53
$500.
17:04
Yeah.
17:10
And here we need to attach this to the job number four.
17:17
You have the option also to attach Job to line so we're only gonna Chad.
17:34
This, sure, a couch, or this 6130, not the backing.
17:40
Don't just attach paint.
17:44
So we're only attaching this account, just post this.
17:52
And now we go back to the income expenses.
18:08
So, we have this.
18:13
from the concrete company for the for the concrete, for the lingo conflict and and this is for them.
18:26
Wages of that technician or the salary of that technician for laying the pipes.
18:31
So, again, we have the total income of $1050 and cost of 5500 and, ah, the cost by the contract company.
18:46
Are they expensive? Sorry, one thousand.
18:52
And the 500 felt the technician labor, the seller at the technician, and we have now the actual net profit of $2050.
19:06
So, this income expense report is only going to be for you, it's not, but they clicked factor or for the other person.
19:14
This is really for you to find out if that particular job was profitable for you or not.
19:22
And, this is the only report that we have, as far as the Jobs and Projects feature is concerned.
19:31
So, this is the end of the presentation, if you have any questions or clarifications, You may start to put it on there.
19:42
Question box?
19:44
Drop the other question box.
19:46

19:49
