Invoice Tax Priority
This Windward Webinar explores the topic of invoice tax priority in Windward System Five, including setting it up and how the system behaves with different tax areas and setups. Learn how to configure the tax priority based on customer tax area, ship-to area, and department area.
- Eugene, the presenter, introduced the three types of setups for invoice tax priority: customer tax area, ship-to area, and department area.
- He demonstrated the process of setting up the tax priority by going to the menu navigator, going to setup tools, setup wizard, Taxes, and then invoice tax Priority.
- He explained the tax priority system: it first checks the customer's account for a tax area, then the ship-to area, and lastly the department area.
- Eugene demonstrated a scenario where a customer doesn't have a tax area setup, in which case the system would check the next priority, the ship-to tax area. If also blank, it would check the department area.
- He demonstrated the process of setting up the department tax area in the setup wizard. He also showed how to set up the tax rates for each department.
- Using three sample customers with different tax areas, he demonstrated how the system handles different tax scenarios.
- Eugene encouraged participants to test out the system in their training environment and reach out for support if needed.
- Jennifer, the moderator, informed participants about the upcoming webinar on how to perform a backup for on-prem, non-cloud customers. She also mentioned resources available for support, such as Help Center, customer care portal, and Winward Learning Academy.

Hello, everybody. Good afternoon. Welcome to another webinar. My name is Jennifer, and I'll be your moderator for today's presentation.
0:57
Today we will be discussing promotion rules. Our presenter is Abby and she has been with ... support for quite some time now. And just a reminder that afterwards, the presentation will be available on our website with our other archived webinars. You can visit WWW dot ... software dot com slash webinars to visit to review all those past presentations. So without further ado, let's get started.
1:27
Yes, thank you Jennifer. I everybody, good afternoon. Thank you for joining our webinar today, this afternoon as what mentioned, we will talk about Promotion Rules Lists. So the Promotion module is an optional module that allows you to handle the more complex methods of promoting your products and business.
1:48
All items are grouped into promotions.
1:51
All items that belong to the same promotion, contribute to the reward, and each type of promotion has an option of a promotion rule, and every wardrobe.
2:04
So, in this Webinar, we will only discuss, what are the promotion list and how to set them up.
2:15
And the first emotion rule that we kept hearing system five is, the coupon, is the customer provides a coupon Brandy item on the invoice that they lost to that emotion.
2:29
A customer is eligible for the reward.
2:33
Next, we have quantity of items on one invoice.
2:39
If the customer purchases a given number of items that all belong to the same promotion on a single invoice, to the customer is eligible for the reward.
2:50
The coupon can be automatic, so there is no need for the customer to present a coupon.
2:58
Next is we have Y, X, and Y J's.
3:03
The customer will receive a reward if he buys a certain quantity within a number of dates.
3:13
And we also have by dollar amount or by amount.
3:17
The customer will receive a reward if he buys or if he spent spend equal to or greater than a specific dollar amount of eligible items.
3:31
Next, promotion rule is buy X or a prize of white.
3:38
So, if the customer buys more than one quantity of eligible items, she is you will receive reward.
3:52
Next, here is the customer card.
3:55
This provides a reward when a customer provides a customer card or loyalty, card, name, or phone number for tracking purposes.
4:07
Next, we have redeem a number of points, if the customer retains a certain number of points, they are eligible for every word.
4:19
And, the last, but not the least, job number. If the customer provides a job number, they are eligible for a reward. And at this moment, I'm gonna pull up my demo two.
4:33
I'll show you how to set them up.
4:42
And, of course, to be able to use the promotion module, you have to enable it. First, in the setup wizard.
4:50
So, on their menu, setup, tools, setup wizard, and that is under invoice set up.
5:04
So, just look for the promotion program and select Use Promotion program.
5:12
Close the window to save it.
5:30
Just make sure it does.
5:47
Yeah, I should have done it like this, OK?
6:07
There we go.
6:09
So that is now enabled, and under your menu, you will see promotions here, and to set up the promotion rules, just go to promotions, Promotion List.
6:25
And I already set them up, so I'm not just open each to show you the settings or the setup.
6:34
So the first one here is the coupon.
6:38
Edit this one.
6:42
So here is the promo code and here is where you put the part code, so this is, this can be manually entered or scanned before or after the item is added.
6:56
And with this promotion rule, we have your maps.
7:00
Spots is just the maximum number of the same coupon accepted on one invoice.
7:06
And this is only available for coupon rewards that did not include points.
7:15
Here are the available, very well, our rewards for this promotion, and I'm not gonna discuss each one due to time constraints, plus paint and rewards will be discussed in a separate webinar soon, OK. So, for this webinar, I'm going to use the Present Percentage Discount.
7:39
And here, the next item is very cheap on, is the number of items that can apply to one coupon. Also, only available for a coupon rewards that did not include points.
7:52
And the max discount is the maximum discount up to which a reward will be valid, any discount from list over the max discount.
8:03
Max it lacked max discount percent, will not tackle it Rewards.
8:07
Points for the invoice line.
8:11
The next discount option accepts values from zero to 100% and is only available for coupons promotions with rewards.
8:23
That is, that includes zero points.
8:26
The max discount is calculated based on the list and selling price of a debatable invoice lines as opposed to the list price on the inventory rectory.
8:39
This prevents existing invoices from recalculating points.
8:44
If the list price changes, since I'm using percentage discount, will not be reachable.
8:53
All right.
8:54
Now, dear you how, Inventory items, filter, like you get all the setup, a specific item only for this promotion rule or inventory items under specific specific supplier or inventory items under specific brands? Or you can also select.
9:18
Multiple categories are just sad categories.
9:23
So, for this demonstration, I selected Category 100 for this Promotion, and in the options, you have also the option to apply the promotion to app be equal.
9:35
So, with that option, the system will not recognize these other filters.
9:42
And for this promotion, I use the Price Adjustment discount.
9:49
Right now, at this mall, we will, great.
9:54
sale.
10:01
Great. An example?
10:02
And this, Does it require a customer, so?
10:37
No, customer buys any items under Category 100, say, this product, or this item.
10:53
The customer gets the 10% discount, so for up to 125 to $250, OK, so that's it for the coupon promotion rule.
11:08
Now, let's move onto the next promotional rule, which is by quantity.
11:14
Want you to keep work, buy a quantity of items on one invoice, and here are the available rewards for this promotion, and I'm using price.
11:28
So, here, number of items, This is the number of items that the customer must purchase to get if the motion.
11:36
And the max number of items is the maximum number of items, the customer can purchase on the same invoice if you leave this zeros of meaning through smell, maximum number of items.
11:50
And here, I only selected one item for this promotion rule.
11:58
This has a regular price of 539. Zero point ninety nine.
12:09
So, if the customer buys jil that item, you will get the discounted price of 530.
12:19
But take note that when using this promotion with the price reward option, which is currently using promotion applies not only to the specified quantity, but till all quantities above the specified number of items.
12:36
So, is the customer buys to, or nor, the customer gets the discounted price of 530, so that's great.
12:46
An example, we deal with this.
12:52
That is ..., this item, oh.
13:03
two?
13:13
OK, so this is the prize answer.
13:17
Oh, customer buys or if this is the customer will pay if he only buys one quantity.
13:25
If he'd like to, then he will only pay $530.
13:33
So that's the example of B, of this promotion by a quantity of items on one invoice.
13:46
Let's proceed to.
13:52
Third one, did I deleted it?
14:01
By Quantity in.
14:13
Sorry, I accidentally go.
14:21
So, here, the next one is by X and Y days.
14:28
And here are the rewards available rewards for this promotion.
14:34
And I'm using percentage discounts.
14:37
So, we have there are number of items.
14:43
Is the number of required quantities before a customer is eligible for a reward and the number of days is the number of allowable days or a span of days, that are that a certain quantity is qualified to be part of the motion.
15:01
And this one is the maximum number of items, which a customer can purchase that is only qualified to be part of the promotion, this is set to zero, then there is no maximum.
15:14
And here is my customer Abayas, too, the product or of the items.
15:23
Within three days, he gets 10% discount.
15:27
But I'm going to skip the creation of the sale, because when we try to add the item, do an Invoice and dated for yesterday, and then trade, created another sail again today and accessing item.
15:48
It not work. So, we are currently investigating, if this is a software a defect, so I'm not just gonna.
15:58
A sale, OK?
15:59
But just keep it for now.
16:04
Because it works when you add the item up to an invoice, more than one quantity, and we're not sure if it's if it should be separate invoice, or it should be up on the same eight voice. So we're currently instigating it.
16:24
It's just, let's just skip that.
16:27
And let's move to the next one, which is by about, or by dollar amount.
16:38
A search here, there are, these are the available rewards for this promotion. And I'm using the points.
16:49
And the dollar amount. Here is the minimum.
16:52
Again, this is the minimum amount or dollar amount of eligible items that must be purchased to earn the reward. And it is calculated using inverse time this price.
17:05
So if the customer's spends more than $150, or spends 150 or more, he gets 15 points.
17:17
And I L.
17:22
Setting this up, or Category 150.
17:27
And for my options, I still see the price Adjustment, Price adjustment, Escarpments.
17:37
Alright. Now let's create a sale as well.
17:42
Oh, Just, mister Chair.
17:57
So here.
18:03
The customer buys the steel.
18:12
So the customer will pay 337.49, which is more than $150.
18:19
So, with that, she gets 15 points, OK.
18:26
So if it is, that's the kind of 50 so he doesn't get the pinpoints.
18:32
Alright, so that's the chapel for the, this promotion rule, by dollar amount or by amount.
18:42
And for our next promotion, swann buy extra price away.
18:57
So there's propulsion.
19:00
They reward is not applicable because this already contains. they're worried like if the customer buys yield that product. So the price will be too little, too.
19:15
The price of fun.
19:19
Again, if the customer replies to you, the price will up is total to the price of one.
19:30
Here, set this up.
19:36
four, category, a 120.
19:40
And, I still use price adjustment.
19:43
You can, you can actually use discount item measure called, but since our time is limited edsel, if I can't, this gets it in this webinars. You'll want me to discuss this for you. Just let me know.
19:57
I will call you for this.
20:02
All right, Now, let's create a, a sale for this promotion.
20:12
That is 120.
20:33
OK, for example, this item here.
20:38
So, the customer buys 199.99, but if you OK, the other quantity, or you will not pay for the other quantity.
20:53
So, that till, I quantities is equal to the price of one.
21:02
So, in, like, if it's three Ts, so the price is equal to the price up to you.
21:17
So, these, this is the example.
21:27
4 by six for a price Y promotion rule.
21:33
Then, next, promotion Here is the customer cart.
21:37
This requires a a Customer account and also this one here and the by X and Y days is also requires a customer account.
21:50
So, this one.
21:54
So, again, if the customer relies on customer card or a loyalty card name or phone number, you will get a reward.
22:08
So, this 1 is 0, so there's not that small invoice. It's to be graded.
22:18
And in here, I use.
22:20
first person that should discount besides other remarks, price schedule, and price.
22:30
And for this demonstration, I said, it's up to you, have a person presentation, Please count of five.
22:42
Here, I set it up, board, Category 125.
22:50
So, for a sap, or let's just great, for a sale without a customer.
23:09
There is no customer.
23:20
Or, like customer account.
23:55
There's no customer count.
24:00
The customer doesn't get.
24:04
Or, if the customer doesn't provide any information.
24:08
Name, phone number, like even loyalty card, he doesn't get the reward.
24:15
Or the 5% discount.
24:19
So, it, great sample. It's just, it's, it's what are attached, customer accounts.
24:29
That's it, OK.
24:36
So, the customer gets a 5% discount.
24:41
Alright. So, that's the example. The customer card promotion rule.
24:46
Next is.
24:52
Redeem points.
25:01
Just.
25:12
OK, so with this promotion rule, the bars are this dollar discount, ishak gift, certificate percentage discount, and I'm using dollar discount.
25:26
So in year number points, this is the number of points required for this promotion, just like, so if the customer regains 20 points, he gets 5%, sorry, $5 discount, so I only, oh, yeah.
25:47
I selected, apply promotion to every invoice.
25:51
So, if the customer has more than 20 points, he is eligible to redeem or to have the dollar discount, it gets 20 points, say, If I create salable, and there's also, of course.
26:14
The acquirer requires a customer account.
26:18
So that is?
26:28
It's.
26:33
Here.
26:37
Let's say, ah, that's one.
26:47
This, Aida.
26:56
So, here.
27:00
It, from it prompts us to or it as, if it's asking as if we want to redeem at 20 points.
27:09
If so, we get the, I discount $5 discount.
27:14
So, if you click Yes, the discount item, or than OK, this is actually the miscellaneous items or the Discount.
27:24
Ah, here, I use this, this next slide.
27:29
I created a miscellaneous part for this.
27:33
If you want me to show you how to or explain to you how I set this up, just let me know, and I will call you after this or tomorrow.
27:46
All right, so, again, if you say yes, so that 20 points will be redeemed and the dollar the $5 discount will be added here.
28:01
You can also just say no.
28:14
I'll just add.
28:18
Shall we say, no?
28:22
If you don't want to redeem the points.
28:27
Say, no, This doesn't redeem zero points.
28:37
But there's no $5 discount as well.
28:57
And for our last proportion rule is this is the job number emulsion.
29:06
And the reward is only the percentage discount.
29:11
So the If the customer provides a job number, he is eligible for a reward. So this is the job number.
29:22
You wish this promotion to oblige is that this is Fergus, Adminstration, IE, use job number one.
29:29
And this also requires a customer.
29:36
Yeah?
29:39
Sale.
29:40
So, yeah.
29:43
Challenge is great, and you want cash?
29:47
Attach the child number, which is why, and that is for Mike.
29:53
Click OK.
30:26
Huge.
30:27
This option applies to every employees.
30:30
So here, if I add any item?
30:36
Do this invoice like, for example.
30:48
So Mike gets the 10% discount, so any item, because I use the option, do apply promotion to every invoice, so there is no inventory items. Suppliers, brands, categories, filters selected.
31:06
All right, so I guess that would be all for today's webinar, if you have questions or clarifications, you may drag it down to the Questions box, or the Question Panel?
31:24
I'm happy for actually a little bit over time, So we don't have time for questions. 32:13

32:17
